To the Editer: I sec bo much talk about swattlnc the fly. Thli seems to me to bo one of the greatest benefits tho people! of Medford can recctvo from tho swatting committee nut I think It will bo neccsiary for tho city council to take a hand. Tbo fly Is very pro lific as every ono knows. Good breeding places Is their delight. Tho mnnuro piles glvo them tbo Ideal place. You can't moke very much headway agatnit the fly unless yoj attack their stronghold, that is the breeding places. If tho city council will pass an ordlnanco compelling every person that keeps a horso or cow to prepare a fly tight rcccpticlo to hold the ma nure until such tlmo as they can haul it off, or uso chomlcals of some kind that will stop tho fifes from using 1 1 1 for a breeding place. This may work a hardship on some people to prcparo for this kind of warfare but it will stop nine-tenths of tho fly supply, the other one-tenth might be handled with tho swatter and trap. It Is worth trying. LEE WATK1NS. SAN FRANCISCO, Cnl.. Feb. 7. Maury I. Dijrgx did not try to hide the fact today that ho was growing very wenry of prison life. Hi in ability to get bail plainly dcprood him greatly. Mis face looked cloomv and the jnuntiiivM had disappeared from his air. In the courtroom he has maintain ed nn excellent show of indifference, but his case did not coaie up before Judge CrUt today, and there was nothing left for him hut to spend the time as well as he could in the city jail. His friend. Walter Oilli gan, was not allowed to n-.-ooiato with him hud in tho Micicty of the other pri-oneiN it was clear that he wa not at nil lntereted. Paul Spott, the third man arrested in connection with the cave of Ida Penrring, the gill the three were ac cued of attacking, succeeded cs. teiilay in get iifg hail and was hack at his home in Oakland. We are agents for the world's standard Cadillac automobile An Automobile is not enough. The Cadillac is not merely an Automobile An automobile will carry you over the road most of the lime probably. An automobile is good or bad only by comparison. A car may be thoroughly satisfac tory to one buyer, while another buyer would not have It as a gift. Jt is largely a matter of education. The buyer of a poor car is sometimes pleased simply because he does not know how much greater satisfaction there is to be obtained from a better car. The more a man knows about automobiles in general the greater is his admiration for THE CADILLAC. It has the highest degreo of satisfaction that can bo derived from any car. It has beauty of line, finish, stability and enduranco unequalled. It has economy of operation and maintenance. Jt has comfort and luxury to a degree that is not obtainable in any other car. Occasionally someone will tell you THE CADILLAC is too heavy. Put the fact remains and no takers, that THE CADILLAC makers have offered ten thousand dollars to any man who can reduce tho weight one hundred pounds without injuring tho efficiency and durability of THE CADILLAC. .'
