Finds Murdered Men's Dodlr D. K. Sutherland tcMifii-d that ho was well acquainted with Masterson. although Xorliug was unknown to him. He said lie met Alc.xnuder on the trail in the forenoon of Wednes day, January 14, and was- told that Alexander liad had some trouble with Jlnsterson in the O-born enbin on Sucker creek, but nothing wns said to indicate that Xorling was mixed irp in the affair. When Suth erland nsked where tho men wero he wns told they were still at the enhiu, so lie smrtcil lor Usuorii riiiini to give help if it were needed. Suther land reached H. CI. Siskron's place nt noon, nud when he told that there had been shooting nt the O-born cabin, Si.skrun accompanied him to the scene of the trouble. Reaching the cabin, they found the door fus tened with n padlock. Sutherland first looked into one of the windows of the enbin, but could see nothing, although Siskrou nt the othor win dow reported the body of Mnstorsou lying on the floor. Xorllng Shot Twice Siskron immediately broke tho padlock on the door and the men en tered, fiudin'r Mitstersou dead ou the lloor, just inside the entrance, and Xorling on tho bed, killed hy two shots through the head. Sutherland then starled for help, leaving Sisk ron to watch the bodies. Siskron's testimony corroborated Sutherland's, with tho additional findings while left nlotic. Ho stntes that after Sutherland departed he proceeded to investigate tho interior of the enbin and found on tho tuhh three empty .IlU-ciiliher pistol shells , nnd one loaded cartridge. Ou tin floor he found three similar shells another lorfded cartridge nnd one bullet that had passed through wood. AI Forst's testimony shows thnt on the morning of January II he stnrted in search of his partner. Mnstefnon, and upon reaching the Osboni cabin and finding it looked, went to 1'orlor's ranch. There he was told that Mastersou and Xor ling hud gone home. Again taking the trail, ho met SuMierlaiuI coining from tho scene of tho killing, anil wits told (hat Alexander had killed Mnsterson nnd Xorling. Fomt then went directly to the Oshorn cabin, where he found Siskron, mid the two stayed with the bodies until tho coroner arrived ut tho enbin. Alexander Tried to Kscom) It is the belief ut Holland, from the findings that have thus far been Hindu that Alexander tried to escape by crossing tho divide, hut finding the snow too deep, was forced to re turn to tho Holland district Ho wns taken at Holland hy Deputy Sheriff Trefcthcn. From statements miidu by Alexander, it would uppear that' there had been soino trouble, although ho docs not statu tho ex act nature. From the fact, however, that Xorling was iiudiesscd mid in bed, the findings would indicate that no serious immediate troublo had been anticipated. .Mnstorsou was fully dressed ami Alexander hays Hint jiiht prior to nud during tin shooting, "Miutui'ttoii mum jumping around," probably to cde the sho or to get the gun. Alexander's re volver is- n Jl'J-oaliber six-shooter ot the Knglish "bulldog" ariety. The bullet entered Miisterson's head about two inches in front of the left ear, ranging slightly upward and coming out ut the right tempo ral bone. Xorliug's wounds wen1 also in the head, ouc about two inches hack of the left eye, the path going downward, ,uud the .other back of he ear, the bullet lodging in the brain. lUitlles Am llrought Out The bodies wero brought out to Holland when the coroner's jury re turned. The bodies of, the murdend men ure now at 'the Hull undertak ing parlors. "" ' ' It wns the plan to take Alexander back to the cabin nnd let him vieu the work he hud douu us it apcarcd when first found, ii hope of secur ing more evidence from, hut fenring n lynching, this was discarded.
