protection policy in the self-sustain
ing and iuconic-producing forests of
Ucrmnny. Mr. Du Bois pointed out
the actual conditions as between the
German forests and ours arc widely
different. The broad underlying
principles gf conservation which in.
eludes protection, nre, however, iden
tical, and tho main principle which
must bo used is preparedness.
