James Kershaw, the Angora goat king of Antelope, has sold 16 of his fine cows to J. W. Snyder. Mr. Kershaw still has a large herd which furnishes much of the cream used in Medford. Murk L. Burns, a business man of Dorrls, Cal Is spending a few days In Medford. C. Richards of Ashland spent Wednesday evening in Medford. Mayor W. II. Canon Is confined to his home with a very severe cold which has settled In his chest. He is said to be threatened today with pneumonia. Great arrangements are being made for the large civic bonfire to be touched off next Saturday night at the close of cleanup day, when all of the rubbish In the city will be burned, near the North school. The high school orchestra will play Judge Colvlg and Porter J. Neff will speak. SUFFRAGE CLUB ENTERTAINED BY MRS. WALTER M'CALLUM Mrs. Walter McCallum g.1ve a tea Wednesday afternoon to the Medford Equal Suffrage club to sixty mem bers of the newly formed organlza Hon. The Rev. Father O'Farrell gave a short address, as did Mrs. Frank Cotterili and Mrs. Silbaugh of Seattle. Violin and piano solos were given by the Misses Hazel Da vis and Aitken. Home-mado candy was sold and a box raffled, the pro ceeds being placed in the club's funds. MRS. SILBAUGH TALKS ON TEMPERANCE Before a rather small but appreci ative audience, Mrs. Jackson Sil baugh addressed the citizens of the city In the Medford opera houst last night upon "A City's Welfare." The talk was a temperance address and dealt with the effects of the saloon In the homes of the city. Mrs. Silbaugh asked piany Hues'. tionB concerning the saloon and its work. None were answered in fa vor with their interests, according to her address. OBITUARY Died At the homo of her daugh ter, Mrs. C. Skeeters, 14 West Jack son street, Mrs. Marjorle Turner, aged 52 years, a resident of Oregon. Besides a husband, she leaves two children, .Albert Scranton and Mrs. C. Skeeters.
