For 30 years Mr. McQnlstore had been master mechanic for the New York Central lines and this year would have retired on a pension, when he had planned to come to Oregon and reside. The Rogue' River Electric com pany has purchased from the county the electric pole and wire lino which the county put in last summer from the carpenter lino on King's highway to the rock crusher on Griffin creek. Since the purchase of this llnu the electric company has been extending it to tho homes of several farmers of that section and a great number of others are hoped to bo reached dur inp tho coming season. Tbe current thus supplied will be used for both light and power. The line is now being connected up with the fore man's dwelling on the Griffin Creek- Orchard company's orchards nnd it will be extended further up that branch of Griffin creek If a demand Is made. The south branch of the creek Is now wired as far as J. J. Skinner's place and will probably be extended to the Dr. Geary orchards. DIED. William M. Garrett died at his home near Medford on Monday, April 15, 1912, aged 90 years 10 months and 28 days. Deceased was born in Murray county, Tenn., and camo to Jackson county in 1877, whero ho has since resided. Mr. Garrett followed farm ing all his life and upon the old homestead he reared a largo family. Those of the children living nre Lucy Cummings, Ager, Cal.; Jennie Prultt, William Garrett, George Garrett, Nathan Garrett, Peter Gar rett, Medford; Marshall Garrett, Lake Creek. Ore.; Lulu Hute, and Edgar Garrett, Lone Tree, Wash. Funeral announcement will bo made Wednesday. Mrs. Nancy Frcdenburg died at her homo in Central Point, on Mon day.
