The political pot In Jackson coun ty, which has been simmering for some weeks past, is beginning to near the boiling point and candidates and would-be candidates are abroad In the land. A meeting of somo significance was held Friday afternoon at Cen tral Point when political war horses of that city and Ashland endeavored to get together, as each had a can didate for county Judge. According to well authenticated reports tho outcome of the meeting was that (Icorge W. Dunn of Ashland will re main In the race for county Judge, while W. C. Leever, tho Point's can didate, will withdraw to become a candidate for commissioner. For two or threo days a persis tent rumor has been circulating to tho effect that W. It, Coleman, coun ty clerk, will be a candidate to suc ceed himself. Mr. Coloman stated Saturday that possibly he will run, but that he has not as yet declared himsolf. L. K. The publication intimurutes that the decision, which was virtually the same us one handed down previously by the United States supreme court would aid Ross materially should ho be brought to trial for land frauds. In addition the article asserts that Judge Gilbert's son and daughter were used by Ross as "dummies" to file on desert lands, nnd says that Gilbert, when he heard of it, compelled Uieni to cancel tho elnimsnnd-return to Ross the money he hud advanced them. Newspaper Man Dies. PITTSHURO, I'n., Feb. 24. A. J. Harry, 57, former owner of tho Pitts burg Post and tho Pittsburg Sqn, died suddenly today at tho Duquesno club.
