GREAT INTEREST IS TAKER Iff REVIVAL L On Tuesday evening of this week the members of St. Mark's Episcopal church of this city gavo a reception to their new rector, Rev. James. Sherrin, and family. Over a hundred members of the church gathered la tho Guild hall and spent a very pleasant evening. W. M. Colvlg, president of tho Medford Commercial club, gave the address of welcome. Mr. Colvlg has a happy faculty ot being ablo to en tertain any assembly which may be so fortunate as to have him. as Its speaker and ho was in no wise want ing upon this occasion. Mr. Colvlg Is an encyclopedia ot historic events peculiar In themselves to this valley and a few of them Interspersed in his talks make interesting listening and are always appreciated. His ad dress Tuesday evening was such an ono and it. Intermingled with his outbursts of pleasantries, gave tho assembly something to think of nnd to laugh at. Vocal solos wore rendered during tho evening by Mr. Fish and Mr. Gcorgo Andrews, also a piano solo by MJus Hutchinson and a reading by Miss O wlgbt. Rev. Sherrin responded to Mr. Colvlg's address of welcome in a manner very pleasing and capable nnd tho members of that church or ganization cannot but congratulate themselves that they havo so schol arly and gifted a gentleman for a rector.
