Tako one pint of good, clean wood
ashes, put them in a cheesecloth bag
and put in an iron or graulte kettle
that holds six or eight o,uarts of wa

of shelled corn, cover with water and

after boiling twenty minutes to half

from hulls put It on to cook In clear,
cold water, which should bo changed
several times while cooking to free it
from tho taste of lye. Cook until ten
der. When It Is almost done salt to
tasto and cool: half an hour longer.
