A largo amount of routine business was trans acted, it being the first meeting of the month. Tho council heard compl&intu of several parties in regard to the pres ent milk supply of the city, but failed to take any definite action in regard to the matter. Assessment ordinances declaring the cost of Improvement by paving wero passed to cover the following streets: South Orange, Mistletoe, Ole- son, East Main and Hose avenue. Mcintosh, Indicted by the grand Jury Tuesday afternoon for failing to support his wlto und chil dren, appeared Wednesday morning in the circuit court and pleaded guil ty. He will bo sentenced by Judge Calkins Thursday morning at 9 o'clock. In nil probability Mcintosh will bo ordered by tho court to contribute n certain amount regularly for tho sup port of his family, and should ho full In this the court can order him to be put at work on tho county roads at $1.50 a day, which will bo paid tho family for their support. In accordance with. a decree of Jus tice Taylor, before whom the case was first called, Mcintosh has paid his wife ?20 toward hor support. He has also made over an order on' tho Carnegie library board for $300 duo for services as architect, which Is now in tho hands of Judge Calkins. This will probably bo used for the support of the family. It is charged that Mcintosh uog lccted his wife nnd children to such an extent that they were practically destitute. This led to the complaint being tiled In tho "Justice court.
