"Well, if that Is correct, It will be tho first time Mcdford over sought to co-opernto with Grants Pass on any proposition," remarked a representa tive of tho Courier. Tho Med ford man said "Oh no" again. These Jests aside, Mr. Andrews dis cussed the future In an earnest wa. Medford could not have, sent a. more competent and broader roan on this mission a3 Ed Andrews at all times is for tho development of the entire Itoguo River valley and all of Its towns, and no narrow, selfishness ran find room In his mental makeup. Ho lo one of the best posted men on the resources of southern Ore gon, and whenever ho speaks ho has something of Interest to say. Mr. Andrews spoke of his mission ns follows: "There may havo been cause for complaint in the past regarding your suggestions, that Is that Medford did not co-operate with Grants Pass and other towns of the valley, but we did not mean It In a selfish way. We were so busy with our own enter prises nnd local development that we allowed ourselves to appear Indif ferent, nut It was only appearance, not n reality. "Our busicss men got together a few nights ago and wo talked this matter over,' and decided that the timo had come when co-operation should develop. We appreciate your decision not to hold a celebration on tho Fourth of July and want you to go In a body to our celebration. We, on our part, Intend to charter a spe cial train and come to your mining congress. There will be a large num ber of enthusiastic Medford people on thnt train, and we know that we will ho wolcomo In your midst. They are going to their home In Wexford town. They are the owners of a mine in Bolivia for which they havo Just re fused more than $1,300,000. Two brothers remain on watch at the prop erty. Ten years ago Stephen O'Donohuo. now 33 years old, went out with Rug. llsh prospectors and obtained work in a tin mine two days' Journey from La Par. Soon he sent for his brother Patrick. Years were lost. Then came word of an abandoned tin mine thnt oouM be purchased, and tho two young men raised $5000 nnd took title. The nilno proved to bo exceed ingly rich In gold as well as tin.
