(MISS GENEVIEVE WORTMAN.) The domestic art classes of the Medford public schools have an in teresting exhibit in Kentner & Co.'s Bhow window. The girls have made the smaller garments wholly by hand, and thoy show careful work and good teaching. Members of the rfreshmen art class made a complete shirt waist suit. Tho girls deserve high praise for their neatness. Their cooking as well us scrviug gives evi dence that the addition of this course to the schools was the right move. ITS AND CRAFTS (MRS. II. C. STODDARD.) Why not establish a summer -school in Medford, where various sorts of handicraft might be taught? With the unusual array of local tal ent in this valley and tho greut number of people who are interested in the subject of handicrafts, such school, or even a permanent one, should thrive. Those who have seen the beautiful jewelry carved out of solid blocks of silver by Miss Spink, who was for five years a student at Pratt insti tute, or who have observed the beau tiful tooled leather handbags, lamp mats, magazine covers, etc., done by Mrs. Root at her country home near Jacksonville and on display at the "Medford book store; or who are fa niliar with tho work of Miss Mar garet Hubbard or thte beautiful ihina painting of Mrs. II. E. Morri lon, or tho oxquisito needlowork of nany Modford ladies can not doubt that this vnlloy is favored with un nouul talent. Whilo tho public in general is awakening to an appre ciation of tho real beauty of things rondo by hand, and evincing a corre sponding distaste for things artificial. CAPTAIN GOBLE'S DEATH.
