GROCERY INVESTIGATE NOW NEW LAUNDRY IS PROMISED Stock In New Concern Subscribed Centrally Located -Lot Purchased and Contract for Building Being Closed New Machinery Ordered FINDS NEW METHOD WERTHER FORECAST PRETTY WEDDING NEAR WILDERVILLE LAST SUNDAY Professor McAdie Devises New Sys tem Which May Revolutionize the Present Systems. The formation of a new laundry company, undertaken by Sir. Paul son some time ago, is rapidly reach ing its final goal. The stock in this new company has all been subscribed, a centrally located lot has been purchased, a contract for the building is being closed and ground for its erection tvill be broken Monday. A complete line of new machinery of the latest type for doing a gen eral laundry business was ordered some time ago, and the shipment will begin to arrive by the last of next week. The boiler and engine will be in place as soon as the foundations are complete. In all probability, unless unforeseen delay should oc cur, this plant will be in full opera tion by the middle of next month The machinery will be installed ay 'fast as tho construction of the build inc will permit, so that plant and building will bo completed at the car liest date possible. It has taken considerable timo to get this project under way, but now that tho stock has all been subscnb ed the completion of the plant will receive no further delay. Tho plant will bo thoroughly equipped with tho best and most la bor-saving devices and its aim wilu be to give the patrons of Medford a high-class laundry product. There is no other town in Oregon the bizo of Medford that can boast of haying two laundries. The fact that Medford will be thus ably equip ped-demonstrates the Medford spirit of keeping in the lead with the bewt 'of everything. Mr, Paulson wishes to thank those who have given him encouragement and their good-rwill, as well as those who have given, him financial sup port. Xr. Paulson, being a lauadryman and having gained bis knowledgo from a hand laundry to a steam plant, he is fully able to assure the peoplt that the best will be none too SAN FRANCISCO, Col., lnril 23. Professor Alexander McAdie, head of the local weather bureau, has de vised systems of thermometer aud barometer comnutntions which sim plify nnd mny revolutionize the present system? of reading weather conditions throughout the world. His systems have already been adopted by the meteorological offices of Great Britain and Germany. Both the systems do away with the accepted units of meteorological measurement and give new stand ards. The present system for bar ometric measurements is guaged by tho inchos of pressure. By tho new system, instead of reading tho inches of tho barometer tho observer reads the percentage of tho standard atmosphere. In his new thermometer, Profes sor McAdie has done away with both the Fahrenheit and -the centi grade systems. Instead of making his zero point at 32, as in tho Fahr enheit, or "0," as in the centigrade, he has placed zero as absolute zero, that point at which gas has no mo tion. By this means all minus com putations are done away with and a definito standard to work from is given. Herbert Elmore and Miss Bessie ! Robinson were married at the resi dence of tho bride's parents nt the residence of tho bride's parents near Wilderville, on Sunday, April 10. On their return to their home on Thompson creek a reception was held on Tuesday evening nt 7 o'clock nt the home of tho groom's mother, when a number of neighbors and friends wished them a long aud NOTICE William E.
