Three men entered tho lmmc of Bcncditto Cicnni, a rich Italian dry fods merchnnt, held his wife off nt tho, point of a revolver, and dolibar n'toly shot Cicnni to death ns ho lay in bed. Mrs. Cicnni opened the door nt the call of tho bell. Three unidentified Italians entered, one of them seising her nnd holding n revolver against her head, his companions entered tho bedroom where tho merchnnt lay sleeping. Sfrs. Ccinni said sho heard three shots, nnd then tho couple emerged, each holding a smoking revolver. Tho threo strangers left the house by tho front door. Bashing into tho bedroom Mrs. Cicnni found her husband dead with three bullet holes in his body. Two years ago. Cienni received black-hand letters demanding tho payment of $5,000 on pain of death.
