Little or no change was notice able in pear prices this week, al though the situation continued to bo the reverse of satisfactory. Those, who operated in pears this season were deceived in the sie of the crop, which proved to be much i larger than was anticipated. At the beginning of the year tho growers announced that the crop was short and operators who looked tho sit uation over agreed with this pre diction. Consequently they wore in no hurry to sell and large quantities of pears went into storage. There were times in the early part of the . season that tho fruit could have been sold to an advantage, yet those holding it were in no hurry to sell. They have lapped over on ! , Duchess, which ought to be supplying the trade now, and in fact ought to bo soon cleaned up.
