The matter was taken up by the local club last spring, and ut that time a protest was furwarded to Congress. According to the bill, advanced by the Secretary of tbe Interior, the national park would extern well down into the C p t e r Hood River Yulley, and the hunting of deer and tear would le prohibited for Hood Kiver county sportsmen. Hood Kiver citizens are favorable to the park syselm proposed by the F or estry department, which has advocated a chain park system along the Colum bia Kiver Highway and taking in the peak of Mount Hood. ’Ihis park would follow highways and take in mountain lakes around the mountain and would extend along the backbone of (he ('as cades to Mount Jtlferson and Crater Luke.
