AmarJen, who was superintendent last year at the »Mosier school, and who is now su|>erintendeiit of the Hillsboro schools, is self explanatory : “ A fte r our school entertainment my wife and 1 had a balance of $2.82 which we were to spend for the school. We sent you a box luesday night from Portland. The figure.*, Lincoln and Shakespeare, are for the high school room, and the other pieces for the room where my wife taught. We hope they arrived safely and will please the children.” HOTEL MOSIER CHANGES HANDS E. K. Fiske, «if Pocatello, Idaho, has leased the Mosier Hotel for a period of two years. With his family he ar rived the first of the week and took active charge Wednesday morning. Mr. Fiske has been a business man of Pocatello for some time and comes to Mosiar as a good booster for this dis trict. He plans in the near future to open a lunch counter in connection with the hotel. John Elder, former proprietor, is uncertain regarding his future. Mrs. Elder's health has been rather poor and the family expert to move to their ranch Mr. Klder states that he will probably remain in Mosier for some time as it will keep him busy attend ing to his big sales of wood which is being shipped out. With his other husiness interests to be looked after, Mr. Klder states that now that he is out o f the hotel he ran devote his en tire time to them. Mr. Fiske, while motoring through Mosier over the Columbia Kiver high way, stopped at the local notel recently when the above mentioned deal was made. He expects to run a first class hotel, catering at all times to the best interests of the public. SCHOOL TO OPEN MONDAY, SEPT. 11 At 8:30 Monday morning the hell At the Mosier school will call the pupil.* to register for the opening of the 1915 17 term o f nine months. On this day the pupils are expected to attend and get their assignments for books and lessons. Three new teachers have been added in the local school in District No. 52. B. A. Berry hH* been elected superin tendent and will teach the high school subjects Miss Dorothy E. Passmore will be in charge of the Home Eco nomics deparment, teaching domestic science and art. This will be a new course of study and a special room has been built for its prupose. Mrs. Mar garet Walker will be in charge of the intermediate grades. John IV Ross will again be principal and will teach probably the seventh and eighth grades. Miss Alice Bennett will resume her work a* teacher in the primary depart ment. A conference will tie held this afternoon between the teachers and the school board to outline plans for the coming school term.
