Grain Trade Awaits Developments. Hopes W om en Adopt Th is Habit As Well As M en Glass of hot water each morn ing helps us look and feel clean, sweet, fresh. Happy, bright, alert— vigorous and vivacious—a good clear skin; a nat ural, rosy complexion and freedom from illness are assured only by clean, healthy blood. If only every woman and likewise every man could realize the wonders of the morning Inside bath, what a gratifying change would take place. Instead of the thousands of sickly, anaemic-looking men, women and girls with pasty or mudity complexions; in stead of the multitudes of “ nerve wrecks,” “ rundowns,” "brain fags” and pessimists we should see a virile, optimistic throng of rosy-cheeked peo ple everywhere An inside bath is had by drinking, each morning before breakfast, a glass of real hot water with a teaspoonful of limestone phosphate in it to wash from the stomach, liver, kidneys and ten yards of bowels the previous day's indigestible waste, sour fermentations and poisons, thus cleansing, sweeten ing and freshening the entire alimen tary canal before putting more food Into the stomach Those subject to sick headache, bil iousness. nasty breath, rheumatism. cohU; and particularly those who have a pallid, sallow complexion and who are constipated very often, are urged to obtain a quarter pound of limestone phosphate at the drug store which will cost but a trifle but is sufficient to demonstrate the quick and remark able change in both health and appear ance awaiting those who practice in temal sanitation. We must remember that initde cleanliness la more Impor tant than outside, because the skin does not absorb impurities to rontam inate the blood, while the pores in the thirty feet of bowels do. C. ISIS Grain business in the Northwest is of small volume these days. As else where in the country, the trade is awaiting a settlement of the German question before embarking upon new commitments. With the submarine issue out of the way, there is likely to be a fair revival of buying j n the Northwest. There is some inquiry from the East, but the bids are not in line with sellers’ ideas. Coast demand is small. Bradstreets estimates the visible wheat decrease at 5,500,000 bushels. The Canadian visible wheat supply is 34,538,000 bushels, against 12,322,- 000 bushels a year ago. The oats visible is 13,761,000 burhels, against 5,445,000 bushels last year. Keep the Sheep. The \merican Sheep Breeder, of recent date, gays: "A brooding, dreadful calamity hov ers over our sheep industry according to some of our sheep prophets. After the war they see wool tumbling down by the shilling. Europe will cry for more wool. Hundreds of factories now idle will gobble up the supply. Remember that Germany. France, Italy. Austria and other nations are using little wool today. They cannot in the very nature . o f things. Yet there is no surplus. There are no idle stocks save a small quantity Ger many has bought in South America, which cannot be shipped and consid erable of this is being offered by the Germans themselves who seem quite willing to take the present fine margin of profit. The world’s clip is reduced. Sheet stock in most every country has declined Reconstruction in Eu rope means busy spindles. Whoever heard of cheap anything after a war? The cost of living is higher in every land. With millions of workers killed how can European labor be cheaper? Wages will soar. They must. Tariff or no tariff, this awful slump in wool will not happen. Mutton! This war has no influence on the market. We are exporting no mutton. We are eat ing more mutton and our supply is less. There Is no logic In the argu ments advanced by these pessimistic sheep prophets. In fact they have no arguments. Their statements are gen eral. not specific. It s bosh—all bosh. Keep your sheep. Buy more if you can get them. A11 thlB is rot about after the war makes us smile. There are no grizzly horrors in sight.” N E W S ITEM S O f General Interest About Oregon Three Governors to Visit. Salem—Governor Alexander, of Ida ho, has notified Governor Withycombe that he will be present at the Oregon State Fair September 29, Governors’ Day. Governor Lister, of Washington, also has accepted Governor Withy- combe’ s invitation to be a guest at the State Fair. In return Governor Withycombe will visit the Washington State Fair at North Yakima. Commenting on Governor Withy- combe’ s plan for an interchange of visits between executives of the three Northwestern states with a view of stimulating interest in the state fairs, Governor Alexander wrote; “ This interchange o f visits o f the executives o f the neighboring states is a happy thought, as so many of our interests are mutual.’ ’ State Money Is Involved.
