urday evening Mrs. J. E. Gentry re

The crop prospect for next season

Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Booher and

Friday from a two months visit with
their daughter at Palouse, Wash., and
other relatives in Eastern Oregon.

The Mask Ball In Artisan hall last
Friday was the best attended of any
dance for many days. The prizes for
the best sustained characters were
captured by Mrs. J. E. Gentry, repre
senting a flower girl and Frank Rheln
schneider representing an Indian. At
midnight an excellent supper was serv
ed at Hotel Lexington.
The school entertainment last Mon
day evening attracted a large crowd
and was a very enjoyable affair.

Grain receipts at this station for
this season at the Warehouse and Mill
amount to 147,198 bushels. In ad
dition to this amount there has been
sold to sheep men for feeding purposes
about 15,000 bushel that would have
been marketed here if they had not
bought it. Making a total of 162,193
bushel in the country tributary to Lex
ington. The farmer saved enough to
seed the land for another seasons crop.

Sometime ago the Lexington basket
ball team went to Heppner to play the
Heppner team. Heppner has a good .
team and play a splendid game, but
the Lexington boys were able to tie
the score. Last Friday the . Heppner
team came to Lexington for the re- .
turn game and put up a strong game,
yet our boys managed to break even
with them on a score of 14 to 14.
A number of Heppner people accom
panied the ball team, many of whom
stayed for the mask ball which follow
ed the ball game.
