McAIister and family are visiting the Expositlan, In Portland, this week. Wm. Staffer, of Social Ridge, leaves today for Portland to attend the Expositton. H. E, Burchell, who has been at tending the exposition, returned to Lexington Monday. Mrs. E, D. Brown and daughter, Miss Ruth, returned last Saturday after a weeks visit at the Fair. , Bills are out announcing a ball to be given tomorrow, Friday evening, In Artisan hall. Everybody invited. J. A. Campbell, of Medical Lake, Wash, is the guest ot his brother, William Campbell, of Social Ridge. John B. White was called to Mar- ionville, Mo., Tuesday of last week, by the serious illness of his little daugh ter. While at The Fair recectly'we no ticed a large part of the grain in the Morrow county booth was from Lexing ton. J. B.DeLong is erecting a new building .near the school house, to be used as residence and photograph gallery. W. E Leach has improved his res idence property by a new addition to his residence and the erection of a new barn. H. S. Wharton, of Heppner, and H. L. Mc Agister have charge of the bank during the absence of W. B. McAIister. The Kerr Gifford Co. have built a new warehouse at this place,' thereby increasing their warehouse capacity 60,000 sacks. Mrs.' Ed. McDaid, of Juniper Hol low, brought their little child to Lex ington the fore part of the week for medical treatment. H. C. Gay, of Rhea Creek, was in Lexington Tuesday and Wednesday taking orders for a farmers account book. The Wheatfield acknowledges a pleasant call. About thirty Lexington people took advantage of the cheap rate to Port land on Wednesday of last week, to see the beauties of the Exposition and the sights on "The Trail " Mr. Wm. McMurray has been ap pointed Assistant General Passenger Agent, of The O. R. & N and S. P. Co's (lines in Oregon), with headquar ters at Portland, Oregon. Rev. T. P. Graham and family, of Meridian, Idaho, arrived In Lexington recently. Rev. Graham is our new Methodist pastor and his family are now occupying the parsonage. Alva Leach says, Dave can have anything he wants in Portland, if he pays for it. Do it today. W. P. McMillan and family depart ed last Tuesday. Mr. McMillan go ing to Portland and his wife and child ren stopping at lone to visit Mrs. Mc Millans parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. 'F. Wilmot. Ray McAIister has charge of the drug store and post office dur ing their absence.
