AUG. 10
8:12 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to two reports of a theft
on North First Street.
11:41 p.m. — A domestic disturbance occurred at the intersection
of Grady Lane and East Loop Road, Stanfield.
AUG. 11
1:50 a.m. — Hermiston police received a report of a vehicle theft
along South Highway 395.
11:03 a.m. — A caller reported a male was passed out in brown
Chevrolet Tahoe at a parking lot on East Main Street, Hermiston.
6:48 p.m. — A caller reported a manager at a store on East Ore-
gon Avenue, Hermiston, was causing a disturbance over the food.
AUG. 12
2:23 a.m. — Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle
crash on the westbound side of Highway 204 near milepost 3,
Umatilla. The 23-year-old driver of a Toyota Camry avoided hitting
an elk and ended up rolling the car. The driver suffered minor
injuries.
12:15 p.m. — A Hermiston resident on East Dogwood Avenue
asked to speak to police about trespassing her daughter tres-
passed from her apartment. The caller said her daughter came
into the residence earlier and took her dog without permission.
1:23 p.m. — A caller reported a transient standing just outside the
doors to the temporary Hermiston City Hall had all his belongings
around him and was on a cellphone being loud and causing a
scene.
1:32 p.m. — Hermiston police received a report of child abuse.
4:26 p.m. — A Hermiston resident reported someone is using her
unemployment benefits.
5:36 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to three reports of a
theft on North First Street.
7:24 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a reported burglary
on the 200 block of East Dogwood Avenue.
9:57 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a reported burglary
on the 200 block of East Main Street.
AUG. 13
11:39 a.m. — A female approached a Umatilla County sheriff’s
deputy who was patrolling the county fair in Hermiston and
reported there was a fight. The deputy responded to the fracas
between two 14-year-old girls. Per rules at the fair, he trespassed
both for the duration of the fair because they were fighting.
1:34 p.m. — A Hermiston resident on Northwest Eighth Place
reported last fall a man did some work in her garage and took her
electric cord and left a no-good purple one and his paint sprayer.
He came and got his sprayer and cord but did not bring hers
back. She wanted to know if she needs an officer to go with her
to get her electric cord so she can vacuum her car.
5:55 p.m. — The Hermiston Police Department responded to
a reported burglary on the 600 block of West Moore Avenue,
Hermiston.
AUG. 14
9:37 a.m. — Hermiston police received a report of child abuse.
8:10 p.m. — A domestic disturbance occurred at Crossroads on
Sixth Street, Umatilla.
11:08 p.m. — A domestic disturbance occurred on West Main
Street, Echo.
AUG. 15
12:27 a.m. — A caller told Hermiston police she hit a male with
her vehicle after another male pushed him into the road.
6:09 a.m. — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded to a
report of the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on West Prog-
ress Road, Hermiston.
8:18 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to a report of a fight at
South Highway 395 and East Main Street.

PENDLETON — The following sentences have been imposed in
Umatilla County courts:
FELONY
•Carlos Antonio Ramirez, 30, Hermiston, pleaded guilty to second-de-
gree burglary: sentenced to 38 months Oregon Dept. of Corrections,
22 months post-prison supervision, $250 fine and restitution to be
determined; pleaded guilty to first-degree theft: sentenced to 13
months Oregon Dept. of Corrections, 1 year post-prison supervision,
$250 fine and restitution to be determined; pleaded guilty to felon
in possession of restricted weapon (misdemeanor): sentenced to 180
days jail-suspended, 18 months probation and $100 fine, plus court
costs and fees; pleaded guilty to and felon in possession of firearm
(felony) and first-degree criminal mischief (misdemeanor): sentences
to discharge.
•Rachel Marie Cruz, 27, Umatilla, pleaded guilty to first-degree theft:
sentenced to 2 years probation, 90 sanction units, 30 maximum
jail units, $300 fine and $2,700 fine-suspended, plus attorney fees;
pleaded guilty to identity theft and two counts of fraudulent use of a
credit card: sentences to discharge.
•Tyler William Halstead, 31, Hermiston, pleaded guilty to second-de-
gree sexual abuse: sentenced to Diversion Program.
•Raymond Haze Garcia, 24, Umatilla (TRCI), pleaded guilty to
third-degree assault: sentenced to 13 months Oregon Dept. of
Corrections, 2 years post-prison supervision and restitution to be
determined.
MISDEMEANOR
•Heather Dawn Evans, 41, address restricted, pleaded guilty to
fourth-degree assault: sentenced to 180 days jail-suspended, 2 years
probation, $100 fine and $900 fine-suspended.
•Samantha Daun Irwin, 26, Hermiston, pleaded guilty to two counts
of second-degree theft: sentenced to 30 days jail and $100 fine for
each count.

and closes Wednesday, Aug.
