Leigh Beamer Hermiston January 12, 1924 - August 13, 2018 Leigh Beamer of Herm- iston was born January 12, 1924, in Santa Ana, Calif., the daughter of Ralph and Francis (Fitch) Williams. She passed away while visiting fam- ily in Moses Lake, Wash., on Monday, August 13, 2018, at the age of 94. As a child, Leigh moved with her fam- ily to Oregon and Beamer lived in east Lane County throughout most of her childhood. After gradu- ating from high school, she attended Oregon State Uni- versity where she studied for a couple of years. While attending college she met Dale A. Beamer. The couple were united in marriage on October 11, 1947, in Eugene, Oregon. They made their home in the Eugene area where they ran a turkey farm and an agriculture business for many years. In 1973 they moved to Condon, Ore- gon, where they raised cat- tle and sheep for several years. They moved to War- den, Wash., in 1985 where they raised hay and cat- tle. In 1995 they retired to Irrigon, Oregon, where she lived until 2011. She has resided in Hermiston for the past seven years. Leigh enjoyed many activities such as knitting, quilting, crocheting, cook- ing, canning, fishing, camping and hunt- ing, and was a 4-H leader. She was preceded in death by her hus- band of 63 years, Dale, on March 5, 2011. She was also preceded by sis- ters Ora Jane Black and her twin sister Gayle Enney. She is survived by daughters Virginia Beam- er-Highsmith of Powell, Wyo., and Carla McMahon of Hermiston; sons Steve Beamer of Terrebonne, Ore., and Keith Beamer of Moses Lake, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was born March 29, 1926, in Booneville, Arkansas, and as a teen moved with his family to California where he graduated from Stockton High School. He married Dorthy Lee War- ren on October 13, Barton 1951, in Stockton, Calif. In 1952, Tom gradu- ated from the College of the Pacific (now University of the Pacific) with a degree in business administration and continued graduate studies in business education. He taught at Healdsburg High School from 1955- 1963 and San Mateo High School 1963-1987. After retiring and moving to Boardman, Oregon, he con- tinued to substitute teach until he was about 80 years old. Tom enjoyed travel- ing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dor- thy; children Larry (Amy), Cherie (John Grif- fith) and Randy (Donna); grandchil- dren Brooke, Bryan, Michelle, Trevor, and Neil; and by four great-grandchildren.
