Carol Krause Stanfield December 28, 1928 - March 19, 2018 Carol Krause was born December 28, 1928, in Con- cord, California, the daugh- ter of Joseph and Ada Mabel (Nitcher) Corliss. She died on Monday, March 19, 2018, at her home in Stanfield at the age of 89. Carol moved to Oregon with her fam- ily, who settled into the Westland area near Hermiston. She Krause attended Hermiston schools and graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1946. After high school, she attended nursing school at St. Anthony’s Hos- pital in Pendleton. Carol married Karl David Krause in Ontario, Oregon, on February 12, 1949. The couple made their home in Stanfield where she has resided since. In addition to her work as a home- maker, Carol also helped keep books for her husband Karl’s automotive business, City Motor Services. Carol was a member of the Stanfield Garden Club and a longtime active mem- ber of Crossroads Commu- nity Church in Stanfield. She also enjoyed growing flow- ers, especially her roses. She was preceded in death by her husband Karl in 2004, and her son Donald in 2010. She is survived by a brother, Glen Corliss; grandsons Jeremy and Jason Krause; nieces Car- olyn Stiefel, Jackie Lucas and Marilyn Shilhanek; nephew Joseph (Kelly Hale) Corliss; and many extended family members. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Crossroads Community Church. A pri- vate family interment was in Hermiston Cemetery. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14 6:14 p.m. — At Northeast Sixth Street and East Ridgeway Avenue, a dog chased and bit a man on his legs near Eastside Market. He said the dog was large and light brown, possibly a boxer. 8:44 p.m. — A caller on South- west Desert Oak Drive reported a runaway. 11:07 p.m. — Someone reported thirdhand to the Herm- iston Police Department that a woman was being hit by her hus- band on West Hermiston Avenue.
