Oregon in 1942, where
Dale grew up. He worked
hard as a meat cutter for
23 years. He then returned
to school, graduated at the
age of 50 as a registered
nurse and worked until he
retired at the age of 68. He
enjoyed fly fishing, camp-
ing, playing his beloved
guitar and spending time
with his family and friends.
He was always willing to
enthusiastically take on a
challenge, as he proved
throughout his life. (Carpe
Diem!)
He was a proud Chris-
tian man who loved life
and fought a difficult bat-
tle with cancer, never giv-
ing up hope. He always
thought of his family’s
needs and his strong faith
in our Lord gave his family
their strength. Throughout
his life there was always
abundant music, laughter
and love.
He is survived by his
wife, Irene Mowan; his
daughters Tracey Brun-
ning, Lonni Mowan and
God saw you getting
tired
And a cure was not
to be
So He put His arms
around you
And whispered
“Come to me.”
With tearful eyes we
watched you
As you slowly slipped

12:47 a.m. - A caller reported she saw
a dog get hit at Northwest 11th Street and
West Linda Avenue, Hermiston.
10:51 a.m. - A caller at West
Joseph Avenue reported a suspicious
flyer left on her door.
THURSDAY, JUNE 15
6:56 a.m. - A male was sleeping
inside a vehicle on West June Avenue,
Hermiston.
2:42 p.m. - A caller reported
someone stole $1,500 worth of
tools from his truck bed some
time between last night and this
morning, at West Ridgeway Avenue,
Hermiston.
FRIDAY, JUNE 16
12:36 a.m. - Someone just broke
a car window at Northeast Aspen
Drive, Hermiston.
10:51 a.m. - A caller reported a
missing person, a patient she has
not heard from since last Friday.
12:48 p.m. - A caller reported
that a woman came up to her ve-
hicle at East Ridgeway Avenue and
started pounding on the windows
because she didn’t like where the
caller was parked, upsetting the
caller and her kids.
6:24 p.m. - An assault was report-
ed at West Cherry Avenue, Hermiston.
8:08 p.m. - A driver was drinking
with a child in the vehicle at North 1st
Street, Hermiston.
9:20 p.m. - An assault was report-
ed at Northeast 8th Place, Hermiston.
9:34 p.m. - A runaway was report-
ed at East Main Street, Hermiston.
9:38 p.m. - A man was throwing
coffee in front of the store at North 1st
Street, Hermiston.
10:23 p.m. - A female and a
male were reported to be screaming
really loud at West Orchard Avenue,
Hermiston.
SATURDAY, JUNE 17
6:13 a.m. - A fight was reported at
North 1st Street, Hermiston.
5:33 p.m. - A stalking complaint
was made at Southwest Sandy Place,

children were reported to be standing

holding up a sign for help. Officers
were unable to locate them.

Darcy D. Tesch, 63, of
Umatilla, passed away on
Monday, June 12, of com-
plications related to his long
battle with cancer.
Darcy was born
April 4, 1954 in Fort
Ord, CA. His family
moved several times
before settling in Las
Vegas, NV where he
spent his formative
years. He moved to
Hermiston in 1976, Tesch
shortly
thereaf-
ter meeting his wife of 40
years, Deborah Thueson.
They were married on Au-
gust 13, 1977 in the Idaho
Falls Temple. Together they
lived in Umatilla for the ma-
jority of those 40 years, rais-
ing four wonderful children.
Darcy provided well for
his family working as a ma-
chinist and later as a long-
haul truck driver.
Darcy was a member of
the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter day Saints. He en-
joyed spending time with
his beloved family, boating,
waterskiing, riding motor-
cycles, tinkering on projects
and traveling. He also en-
joyed his daily dose of ice
cream.
He was preceded in
death by both of his parents,
Arthur and Daryl Tesch;
and a sister, Joy.
He is survived
by his wife, Debo-
rah; sons, Jared of
Pendleton, Brian and
Kevin both of West
Pueblo, CO; daugh-
ter, Taunya Daniel of
Hermiston; brother,
Ben Tesch of Oma-
ha, NE; three sisters,
Nancy Perl of Orem, UT,
Joan Fisler of San Diego,
CA and Gerie Tesch of
Las Vegas, NV; and twelve
grandchildren.
Viewing will be held in
the Relief Society Room at
the Umatilla LDS Church
Building (15 Grant St.) from
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday,
June 19.
Funeral services will be-
gin at 11 a.m. Monday, June
19 in the chapel of the Uma-
tilla LDS Church Building.
Burial will follow at Sunset
Hills Cemetery in Umatilla.

pleaded guilty to possession of
methamphetamine: sentenced to
18 months probation, 90 sanction
units, 30 jail units, $200 fines and
fees.
• Roger William Shipley II, 50, of
Umatilla, pleaded guilty to posses-
sion of methamphetamine, first-de-
gree failure to appear: sentenced to
three months in jail, six months sus-
pended licence, $400 fines and fees.
MISDEMEANOR
• Michael Quinn Ruiz, 26, of
Hermiston, pleaded guilty to sec-
ond-degree criminal mischief: sen-
tenced to 36 months probation, 80
hours of community service, $499 in
fines and fees.
• Andrew Travis Williams, 47,
of Umatilla, pleaded guilty to
fourth-degree assault: sentenced to
24 months probation, $679 fines and
fees, other court sactions.
• Robert Koonrad, 38, of Monte-
sano, Washington, pleaded guilty to
driving under the influence of intox-
icants: sentenced to two days in jail,
24 months probation, 12 months sus-
pended license, 80 hours of commu-
nity service, $1,355 in fees and fines.
• Marisa Leigh Mirviss, 28, of
Cashmere, Washington, pleaded
guilty to first-degree trespass: sen-
tenced to $435 fines and fees.
