(541-567-2882) DELIA WALLIS Librarian for Hermiston High, Armand Larive Middle, and Sandstone Middle Schools 1. When and why did you move to Hermiston? I was born and raised here. I moved away to Alaska for almost seven years, but returned. I’ve been so very fortunate that’s the way things worked out. 2. What’s your favorite place to eat? Any place that seems to be a local joint wherever I am traveling. 3. What is your favorite activity in your free time? Read or spend time with family and friends just visiting. 4. What’s the last book you read? Law of the Yukon: A History of the Mounted Police in the Yukon by Helene Dobrowolsky 5. What app or website do you use most often, other than Facebook? I have my Twitter feed curated to news sources, mu- seums, Library of Congress, and literature-based sites, with the occasional cute zoo animal videos. 6. What surprises you about Hermiston? Our growth. Although I miss many places, things, and ways from years ago. There are bright spots which have only come about due to our growth. 7. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? All over the United Kingdom, and Nova Scotia, and all the US National Parks. 8. Describe the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you. That’s a classified file of way too many examples because some of them were indeed my fault. 9. Name one of your goals for the next 12 months. To help complete writing state Library Standards with folks at the Oregon Association of School Libraries. 10. What is your proudest accomplishment?
