HHS Key Club pres-
ident Kellie Zepeda and
Vanessa Ambriz, vice pres-
ident, said it was great to
see people happy and hav-
ing a good time. The event,
Zepeda said, was all about
spreading Christmas joy.
Seaton liked the arrange-
ment, which encouraged
families to interact.
“I like having our own
tables,” Karen Seaton said.
“Then, you can also get up and
mingle with other people.”
The Seatons’ 6-year-old
daughter, McKenna, was
happy spending time with
some of her West Park Ele-
mentary School classmates.
“Because school has
been out, they’ve been
needing their friend fix,”
Karen said.
McKenna, along with
Athena
Huffman-Martin
and Harmony Blake, both
6, were busy creating crafts.
The trio showed off their
gingerbread men and rein-
deer ornaments. Besides
making ornaments and col-
oring holiday-themed pic-
tures, the girls agreed they
missed visiting with each
other since snowy weather
resulted in school closures.
“My favorite part is be-
ing with my friends,” Har-
mony said.
Santa Claus posed for
photos and listened as ea-
ger youngsters shared their
Christmas wish lists. In ad-
dition, some kids had some
important business to attend
to — including the pressing
question of the day.
“He wanted to know if
he was on the naughty list,”
Tiffany Rettkowski said
about her younger son, Jus-
tin.
The 5-year-old is hoping
the jolly ol’ elf will deliver a
drone during his Christmas
Eve flight. His 10-year-old
brother, Ryan, who has his
heart set on a LEGO set,
enthusiastically summed up
Pancakes with Santa.
“We had fun, more fun
and even more fun,” he said
while grinning from ear to
ear.
