Fisher of Irri- gon, Oregon, was born on October 26, 1953, in Camp Pendleton, California, to par- ents David King Fisher and Blanche Marie VanAuken Fisher. He died on November 30, 2016, in Hermiston, Oregon, at the age Fisher of 63 years. Ron was raised and at- tended school in Stanfield, Oregon. He started work- ing on area farms at the age of 11, moving irriga- tion and working his way up to being in charge of the crew to make sure the job was completed. Ron joined the United States Army in and served for 18 months in Vietnam and several years in Germany. While in Germany he married Beata and they had a son, Johan, and daughter, Beata. Ron’s wife and daughter were both killed in an automo- bile accident. He was hon- orably discharged in 1985 and returned to Stanfield, Oregon. He moved to Portland, Oregon for work before returning to the Hermiston area in 2001. Ron was united in mar- riage to Roseann Rood on January 19, 2002 in Herm- iston, Oregon. He went to work at the Wal-Mart Dis- tribution Center in 2003, where he worked until he retired in 2013. Ron loved to fish, hunt, travel and ride mo- torcycles. He cherished time with his family and friends. Ron could tell a story like nobody else, and enjoyed doing it. He is survived by his loving wife Rosie Fisher, Irri- gon, Ore.; sons Jo- han Fisher, Frankfurt, Germany, David K. Fisher, Aberdeen, Wash., Neil Fish- er, Springfield, Va., and Daniel Fisher and Jeannie, Port- land, Ore.; daugh- ters Dorothy Fish- er, Portland, Ore., Rosie Meyers and Brad, Hermiston, Ore., Kalinn Prouty and Bart, Irrigon, Ore., Sylvia Virgen, Herm- iston, Ore., Lucia Abel and Jason, Birch Bay, Wash.; Eliann Nguyen, Spring- field, Va.; sisters Sandra Tisdale, Debbie Higgin- botham, Rita Rayner and Twylia Wickersham; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niec- es, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Beata and daughter Beata; granddaughter An- gelica Fisher; and his two brothers Marlin Fisher and David Fisher. PUBLIC SAFETY LOG MONDAY 5:37 a.m. — An Oregon State Police officer pursued a vehicle driving about 125 mph while turning its headlights on and off eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 218. The driver then pulled the emergency brake and came to an uncontrolled stop against a fence off the shoulder of the freeway and fled from the vehicle on foot. While the officer waited for backup, he observed a naked female walking back to the vehicle and detained her, eventually identifying her as the driv- er. The woman was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton, where she was determined to be in a mental crisis; she agreed to being placed in the Lifeways Treatment Center in Pendleton for further treatment. Lifeways later called Pendleton police to report the woman had walked away from the center. 7:36 a.m. — A Stanfield resident on West Harding Avenue requested Stanfield police remove her son from the home after he “came home high and yelling at nothing and acting crazy.” 8:20 a.m. — A resident of Fifth Street, Umatilla, complained to Umatilla police that his neighbors are running a business out of their home and are dispatching trucks at 3 a.m. and blocking the driveways. 11:49 a.m. — An Irrigon man who recovered his stolen wallet reported to the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office that his Social Security card is still missing. The case is under investigation. 12:00 p.m. — A Subrosa bicycle valued at $450 was reported stolen from a residence on East Beebe Avenue, Hermiston. The caller requested a call from a Hermiston police officer. 2:08 p.m. — The manager of Shady Rest Mobile Home Court, 28716 Highway 730, Umatilla, requested contact from a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy concern- ing a couple living at the park that have “frequent altercations.” The caller said she is concerned for the woman and for other residents of the park, as the man has been seen chasing his wife with a knife. 2:40 p.m. — Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on East Loop Road, Hermiston, after a woman called concerning something she discovered in a bucket, wrapped in plastic, in the front seat of a vehicle that has been abandoned on her property. 2:50 p.m. — A resident of East Highway 730, Irrigon, reported a 40-foot ladder was taken from his back yard about a week ago. Morrow County sheriff’s deputies took a theft report. 3:02 p.m. — A Frito Lay employee working at Safeway, 990 S. Highway 395, Hermiston, reported her jacket was stolen while she was stocking shelves and the keys to the company truck were in the jacket. 3:39 p.m. — The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office took a report of mail theft from pedestal mailboxes on Southeast 14th Street and Southeast Hurd Place, Irrigon, including at least one package. 4:20 p.m. — New residents of Northeast Second Place, Hermiston, called Hermiston police to report they are being harassed by the neighbors. The caller said the neighbors are threatening to “call immigration about her parents.” 6:43 p.m. — An employee at Motel 6, 655 N. First St., Hermiston, reported a customer advised him he heard what may have been gun shots near the hotel. Hermiston police took a report. SUNDAY 10:30 p.m. - A caller reported the theft of her 1998 blue Honda Civic from apartments on Third Street, Umatilla. SATURDAY 2:19 p.m. - Someone stole a .45-cal- iber Citadel handgun from a home on Naches Avenue, Umatilla. FRIDAY 8:17 a.m. - A property manager asked law enforcement to trespass a Boardman man from a home on Northeast Riverside Avenue, Pendleton, because he has been assaulting a woman there. 10:21 p.m. - An Irrigon man reported a 40-year-old man at about 5 p.m. at the city’s skate park punched his 11-year-old grandson and took his backpack. THURSDAY 3:35 a.m. - A Hermiston man told police he might look like a burglar but wasn’t one. The caller said he locked himself out of his home on Southwest 11th Street and was wearing black pants and gray-and-black hooded sweatshirt in case the neighbor’s call and reported someone was breaking in. 5:36 a.m. - Oregon State Police and other agencies responded to a crash on the westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 182. The driver, a 45-year-old woman from Stanfield, told police she saw something in the road, tried to miss object and lost control of her Accura RDX, which slid off the highway, hit the south shoulder and rolled one-and-a-half times before it ended up on its roof. Information indicated the driver was injured but did not specify to what extent. 9:05 a.m. - An Irrigon man reported his brother may have been involved with stealing $400 from him on Thanksgiving. 11:05 a.m. - Hermiston police received a request from a doctor to check on the welfare of a mother and her newborn child because the mother appears confused. 3:12 p.m. - Hermiston police warned a Chihuahua owner after a caller on North- east Sixth Street reported the dog bit his 12-year-old girl and ripped her jeans. 3:47 p.m. - A father reported his son in Boardman let an ex-girlfriend borrow the car and she has not brought it back. 6:16 p.m. - A deliver person for the Tri-City Herald newspaper reported the theft of the company’s sale rack from the Eastside Market, 582 E. Main St, Hermiston. 6:58 p.m. - A woman on North Golda Road, Hermiston, reported her 40-year- old son was threatening her. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Saturday •Oregon State Police cited Daniel Kris Crandall, 54, of Umatilla, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. His blood alcohol level was .19 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent. Thursday •A caller at 2:15 p.m. identified a man who was stripping one of his vehicle at a residence on the 200 block of Lena Drive, Stanfield. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested the suspect, Kevin Haskell Bond, 44, no address provided, for sec- ond-degree trespass, first-degree theft and third-degree criminal mischief.
