PUBLIC SAFETY LOG MONDAY, SEPT. 26 1:35 a.m. - Hermiston police warned people on East Main Street to turn down the music. 9:52 a.m. - A woman told Hermiston police she corresponded with another woman via the internet while participating on the show “90 Day Fiancé.” They had a falling out, she said, and since then she found fake social media accounts in her name. This situation, she reported, has been going on for two years and shed wants it to stop. The woman told police the former friend lives in Hermiston and asked to have an oicer call her. 11:39 a.m. - A Hermiston man on West Beech Avenue told police a neighbor followed him to his parents house on Cox Lane, pullied up next to him and lipped him of and more. 1:52 p.m. - An administrator at Ashley Manor Senior Living, 1365 S.W. Sage Drive, Hermiston, reported a narcotic came up missing. 3:17 p.m. - A caller told Hermiston police a dog attacked a pig in a pen next to Ameristar, 1580 W. Highland Ave., Hermiston. 6:13 p.m. - Umatilla police gave a warning to a female selling items on Dark Canyon Avenue to inance a trip SUNDAY, SEPT. 25 1:58 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of an assault on West Beech Avenue. A wife called 9-1-1 and said the neighbor attacked her husband and bit his inger. He declined medical help. SATURDAY, SEPT. 24 12:25 p.m. - A driver escaped un- injured from semitrailer ire. The man was on Highway 730 near milepost 195, Umatilla, when an engine ire started. He stopped the semi towing a horse trailer in a highway pull-put. The ire destroyed the vehicle. 7:05 p.m. - A caller reported an older man in an SUV drove over and killed a dog. The dog was in the northbound lane of Highway 395 on South First Street, Hermiston, the caller said, and the driver saw the dog and ran right over it. 7:24 p.m. - An employee of Harvest Foods, 1411 Sixth St., Umatilla, reported inding a female in the store’s meat cooler. She led, the caller said. 9:02 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sherif’s Oice received a 9-1-1 call about a husband in Hermiston being violent with his wife. FRIDAY, SEPT 23 1:39 p.m. - A 9-1-1 caller reported a man on Joy Lane, Hermiston, ired a gun three times into the air during a disturbance with a woman. 7:41 p.m. - A woman on Min- nehaha Road, Hermiston, reported someone ired a gun, maybe from her front yard, and the bullet went through her house. 9:30 p.m. - A bartender at the Riverside Sports Bar & Lounge, 1501 Sixth St, Umatilla, called for police regarding a customer, but only said “it was a weird situation,” hard to explain and was not an emergency. THURSDAY, SEPT. 22 10:29 a.m. - That was one ex- pensive car wash. A Heppner woman told Pendleton police she paid $10 to go through an automatic car wash at Time To Wash, 820 Southgate, Pendle- ton, then looked in her bank account and saw the actual charge was $63. 12:15 p.m. - A caller asked to speak to Umatilla police about a dog that may have been a “bait dog” for dog ights. The caller said she spoke with a Umatilla oicer on Sept. 7 about this, then saw the dog Thursday and it appeared police did nothing. 4:22 p.m. - A man in a lannel shirt and jeans at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston, yelled at and harassed a woman, who called 9-1-1 when he left. She said this stemmed from her a child custody case the man lost. 6:39 p.m. - A resident on East Wilshire Avenue, Hermiston, told police someone threw a mirror over their fence and tore the pool and tossed bricks into the pool through the pool cover. 7:31 p.m. - A caller told Umatilla police she was walking her client’s dog on Klickitat Street when a blue brindle pit bull attacked the dog she was walking. Neither dogs were injured, she said, but she would sign a complaint against the pit bull’s owners. 7:59 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of possible domestic violence at a home on Northeast Second Street. 9:15 p.m. - An Ione caller on B Street reported the neighbor may have tried to shoot his dog in the front yard. WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 21 11:34 a.m. - A hunter left his vehi- cle on U.S. Forest Service Road 5507 for a few hours while hunting. When he returned, he found both passenger tires had slice marks and were lat. 4:45 p.m. - A Umatilla resident reported someone in Washington was sending her harassing text messages. 5:10 p.m. - A woman at Follett Lane and Sagebrush Road, Hermiston, asked law enforcement to tell her the speed limit there because a neighbor keeps stopping her and claims she is speeding. She also reported the neighbor was a construction worker. TUESDAY, SEPT. 20 10:09 a.m. - Hermiston police received a report of a possible suicidal person. 10:54 a.m. - A 51-year-old Board- man woman needed an ambulance ride to a hospital due to a severe headache. 12:59 p.m. - Umatilla police looked into illegal dumping at Buck’s Corner at the intersection Highway 395 North and Highway 730, Umatilla. 1:34 p.m. - Hermiston police received information regarding high school students skipping school at a home on Northeast Gladys Drive. 2:47 p.m. - An Echo resident on West Kennedy Street told police someone stole his medical marijuana plant from outside his house. 3:06 p.m. - A male wearing red shorts and a hooded sweatshirt “took of running” on Idaho Street, Irrigon, after a caller caught him trying to steal marijuana plants. 6:13 p.m. - A 9-1-1 caller reported that earlier in the day the driver of a See REPORTS, A6 It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Jean Deisch announce her passing after a long illness on Sept. 22, 2016, at her home in Irrigon, Or- egon. Pat was born in The Dalles, Ore- gon, on April 13, 1931. She was raised on a ranch in High Prairie, Washington. Pat was a lifelong Deisch animal lover, often riding her horse to school. She graduated as valedic- torian from Lyle, Washing- ton. During her irst mar- riage, Pat lived in many places throughout the United States as the fami- ly moved for construction jobs. Pat settled down in Hood River, Oregon where she met the love of her life, Chester Deisch. Pat was known for her kindness, generosity and wonderful personality. She cared for many seniors as an adult family facility owner in Hood River and Hermiston, Oregon. Pat en- joyed helping others. She was so proud of all the staff that assisted her in caring for the seniors in the facil- ities. They all became fam- ily to Pat. Pat was also a cattle rancher, raising, buying and selling cattle. Pat was very proud of her small herd of cattle. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents, Wil- liam and Madeline White; and brothers, Rob- ert and William. She is survived by her brother, Don- ald; children, Robert Oneal (Gail), Vicki Wilson (Douglas Drew), Peggy One- al, and Otto Byers Jr. (Sandra). Pat has many nieces and nephews, ive grandchildren, Mallo- ry, Craig, Kayla, Matt, and Holly; as well as several great-grandchildren. Pat was surrounded with love from her family and friends, as well as her dear friend and caregiver, Steve Russell. A private burial will held at the Odd Fellows Ceme- tery in The Dalles, Oregon. There will be a celebration of life held at the Church of the Nazarene in Hermiston and will be announced at a later date. Judgments Kara Fallon “Poogie” Brown, longtime Hermis- ton, Oregon resident, was born on July 22, 1984 in Hermiston, Oregon. She passed away on Sept. 18, 2016, in Maui, Hawaii at the age of 32 years. Shortly after she was born, her moth- er commented on her sweet little “Poo- gie” nose. Kara was Brown then and there af- ter lovingly referred to as “Poogie” by her family and friends. She excelled in all things academic, attending Herm- iston schools, Blue Moun- tain Community College and Eastern Oregon Uni- versity. In her junior high school years, she played the lute and the clarinet. In her later years, she taught herself to play the piano and after just two weeks she was playing beautiful Christmas songs. During high school, Kara had a passion for track and cross country where she was a “Star” in both sports. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hiking and sightseeing.
