AMITY 26, IRRIGON
13 — At The Dalles, Irri-
gon’s youth showed in its

Sheller.

mistakes and they made
less,” he said. “It was a
good game, Amity just

TRIAD 42, IONE 14 —
At Dufur, Triad’s speed was
a killer for the Cardinals in
their season opener at the
Dufur Classic on Saturday.
“They were fast, total
team speed they were fast-
er than us,” said irst-year
Ione coach Todd Knop.
“They basically outran us.
They didn’t overpower us
at all, they ran around us.
“They ran some wacky
formations to utilize their
speed, and we got caught
a couple of times by those
plays.”
Knop said if it weren’t
for the big plays, Ione’s de-
fense was solid.
The Cardinals (0-1) will
try again for win No. 1 on
Friday when they travel to
Echo for a 7 p.m. start.
