She was born on February 8, 1927, in Austin, Oregon, to parents Agnes Schoonover Papineau and Frank Papineau. Beck Frances went by “Sis” most of her life due to being raised with ive brothers. She was raised in the Lexington and Hep- pner, Oregon, area. Fran- ces married William “Bill” Beck on November 30, 1943, in Hood River, Ore- gon, at the age of 16. They had two daughters, Donna and Phyllis. They were married for 58 years when Bill preceded her in death in 2001. Frances was a home- maker, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, and always a good friend to all she met. She loved to sew, cook, and raise lowers. Several grand- children made birdhous- es with her help. Having been raised around saw- mills, she loved the smell of fresh cut wood. She is survived by her daughters Donna Van Zante and her husband Wayne, Clarkston, Wash., and Phyllis Mayes, Herm- iston, Ore.; broth- ers Ray Papineau and wife Gay, and Earl Papineau and wife Edith, both of Lexington, Ore.; four grandchildren; eight great-grand- children; ive great-great-grand- children; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brothers, Freddie, Wayne and Dale Papineau. A graveside funeral service was held on Sat- urday, July 9, 2016, at the Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Oregon. A lun- cheon will follow at the Rebekahs Lodge in Lex- ington, Ore. Jean (Rauch) Pardue Boardman October 28, 1926-July 6, 2016 Jean (Rauch) Pardue died Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermis- ton, Oregon, at the age of 89. She was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Echo, Oregon, to parents Julian and Irene (Moenhke) Rauch. Jean went to school in Lexing- ton, Oregon, and gradu- ated from Heppner High School. After graduation, she attended Whitman College where she stud- ied voice. After a year she enrolled in a business college in Spokane, Wash- ington. While there she continued voice lessons at Gonzaga University. Jean met her husband, David J. Pardue, in Spo- kane. They were married on May 28, 1948, in Herm- iston at the Trinity Luther- an Church. After David was discharged from the service, they made their home in the Hermiston area. Jean concentrated on raising their children and being a homemaker. When the children were older, she started working at the Stanield Library, then at the Hermiston Li- brary followed by PGG and retiring at age 70 from Pioneer Implement. Later Jean moved to Irrigon and inally to Boardman. Jean enjoyed singing, gardening, reading and travel. Her Christian faith had also become a very strong part of her life. She is survived by her son, Gary Pardue of Hermiston; daughters Re- nee Wilber of Pendleton, Christine Miller of Red- lands, Calif., and There- sa Pardue of Boardman; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Da- vid Pardue; son Jeffrey Pardue; grandson Chad Harding; brother Irvin Rauch; and parents Julian and Irene Rauch.
