RECORDS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23, 2016 HERMISTONHERALD.COM • A5 OBITUARIES Raymond Guilson ‘Ray’ Morgan Emma Sarah Roberts Jerry P. ‘Pat’ Ritchie Umatilla July 16, 1925-March 18, 2016 Echo July 13, 1929-March 12, 2016 Hermiston March 1, 1948-March 1, 2016 Raymond “Ray” Guil- son Morgan was born in Okanogan, Washington, on July 16, 1925, to par- ents Arthur and Stel- la Morgan. Ray died Friday, March 18, 2016, at his home in Umatilla, Oregon, at the age of 90. Ray was raised in North Puyallup, Morgan Washington, where he graduated from high school and then joined the Army Air Corps to become a 2nd Lieutenant, trained as a bombardier. After his military service he grad- uated from the Universi- ty of Washington in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in forest management. He worked in that ¿eld for a while before becoming a sales engineer with the Standard Oil Company. Later he bought Oakridge Golf Course in Elma, Washington. There were many more career and life changes for him over time. On February 8, 1991, he married Faye “Doloris” Cole in Nampa, Idaho, and later made their home in Umatilla, Oregon. Recently Ray was se- lected to participate in “Honor Flight” with a trip to Washington, D.C., hon- oring World War II veter- ans. Over Ray’s lifetime he enjoyed boating, Àying airplanes, gol¿ng, building and repairing golf clubs, paint- ing, and writ- ing poetry. He is sur- vived by his wife, Doloris Mor- gan of Umatilla, Ore.; children Kath- ie (Wes) Hudman of Council, Idaho, Connie (George) Ziesemer of Wash- ougal, Wash., Scott (Cathy) Morgan of Grayland, Wash., Renee Morgan of Lacey, Wash., Arthur (Bonnie) Stolze of Surprise, Ariz., and Ran- dy (Kathy) Colhouer of Idaho City, Idaho; and nu- merous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Stella Morgan, two sis- ters and a brother. Viewing for the family and friends will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Burns Mortuary of Herm- iston. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Mon- day, March 28, 2016, at Burns Mortuary chapel in Hermiston. Burial with mil- itary honors will follow at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Umatilla, Oregon. PUBLIC SAFETY LOG MONDAY Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services medical calls — 12 HFES motor vehicle accidents — 2 11:59 a.m;. - Staff at an assisted living home reported a resident had sold a motorhome to his nephew for $4,000. The nephew received the motorhome, but the resident never received the money. 6:36 p.m. - Someone reported two people parked at Lookin Good Car Wash were punching each other and blocking traffic. 9:37 - A white Silverado slammed into a power pole on North First Place shearing it off and taking lines down. SUNDAY HFES medical calls — 10 HFES motor vehicle accidents — 1 4:05 a.m. - A Hermiston resident reported he saw a subject remove an air conditioning unit from a window and enter a residence. 10:49 a.m. - Someone contacted 911 to report a male in the road. When HFES teams responded, they found a man doing pushups. HPD was familiar with the individual and said no medical services were required. 1:54 p.m. - A woman reported she lost her wallet at Goodwill Industries and when the wallet was returned, $1,000 was missing. SATURDAY HFES medical calls — 11 3:15 a.m. - Hermiston Fire responded to Marlette Homes for a fire alarm. No fire or smoke was detected, and it was confirmed a false alarm. 3:04 p.m. - A dog attack on children on Southwest Third Street, Irrigon, prompted their father to call law enforce- ment about the dog. He said the children did not need medical help but he wanted the dog gone. 5:59 p.m. - A sheep and a calf were killed on property on North Loop Road, Stanfield. The property owner requested a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy respond and said she had photos of the kills. 6:18 p.m. - A Hermiston resident reported her ex shoved her through a door and slammed her arm into the screen door. 8:31 p.m. - A resident of B Street, Umatilla, reported the theft of her silver 2006 Dodge Caravan. The caller’s husband named two possible suspects. 8:40 p.m. - A Hermiston woman reported a man approached her door and demanded an antique mirror that she does not have. 9:31 p.m. - Hermiston Fire responded to an unknown fire in the area of Highway 207 and Curtis Road. It was determined to be a large bonfire, and Echo Fire took care of the issue. FRIDAY HFES medical calls — 5 7:40 a.m. - A herd of 15 cows and calves walked up and down Baggett Lane near Hermiston. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office contacted the livestock owner. 7:45 a.m - A motor home that was unable to turn a corner blocked the intersection of Fourth Street and Jennie Avenue, causing a traffic jam. 6:19 p.m. - A resident of Hat Rock Road, Hermiston, reported his tool shed broken into sometime during the past four days. He was making a list of missing items to give to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office. 7:06 p.m. - Lifeflight contacted the Hermiston Police Department asking for assistance in stopping someone from fly- ing a model plane around the helicopter so they could take off. 20:15 p.m. - A fight started in the bar at the Panda Inn. THURSDAY HFES medical calls — 6 7:18 a.m. - A school bus broke down before the railroad tracks on East Highland Avenue. 11:19 - A woman in the Hermiston area reported her son-in-law helped her move some things, and he took her gas-pow- ered scooter. 11:27 a.m. - A woman asked the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office to send someone to check on her husband, who left his job in Boardman and was walking to The Dalles. Jerry P. “Pat” Ritchie was born on March 1, 1948, in Poplarville, Mississip- pi, to par- ents Robert R. and Patricia Ledford Ritchie. He died on March 1, 2016, at his home in Herm- iston, Oregon, on his 68th birthday. Pat was raised Ritchie all around the world. He earned a bach- elor’s degree in busi- ness and law. He entered the United States Army in May of 1965, seeing action in Vietnam. Pat served until his retire- ment in 2008 as a direc- tor at the Umatilla Army Chemical Depot with 38 years of service. Pat married Perli- ta Solomon on July 16, 1992, in the Philippines.
