Career/Shadow Day Wednesday morning, October 21 followed by our Career/Shadow Day Chamber Luncheon 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Port of Morrow Riverfront Center. Cost is $12. Please RSVP no later than Friday, October 16. We ask Chamber members to pay for our “shadowing” students’ meals. We will not have a formal speaker that day as we will be encouraging each student to say a few words about their experiences that morning with the group at the luncheon. We have almost 60 students who want to take advantage of this learning opportunity! We desperately need more businesses and organizations to host at least one student in the career fields listed below. Partner him/her with someone in that career field now, or who has worked in that field in the past. If you can, host more than one senior so that all students get this unique opportunity to “shadow” someone who can answer questions about working in that career field. If you cannot participate, refer us to someone who might be able to help us that day. And if you are retired and want to get involved, please consider meeting with a student at the school or Chamber office to talk to them about your career field. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the Chamber office at 481-3014! Students want to “shadow” these careers: Culinary Arts, Surgeon, Nursing, International Advertisement, Auto Mechanic, Electrical Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Social Worker, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Psychology, Forensic Science, Mechanical Engineer, Radiology, Welder, Architect, Hair Stylist (Male), Cosmetology, Business and Management, Journalism, Automotive Painting, Preforming Arts, Lawyer, Behavior Analyst, Graphic Designer, Amazon Computer Tech, Coal Fire Board, Dental Hygienist, Electrician, Accounting, Volunteer Work. JOIN THE CHAMBER AMBASSADORS! The Chamber Ambassadors are one of the most visible groups in the community! From doing a groundbreaking or ribbon cutting for a new business, to welcoming dignitaries, they represent the city of Boardman and the Chamber!
