• A caller reported two females were pounding on
his vehicle and preventing him from leaving a parking

• A teenage boy reportedly kicked a female on

• A caller reported finding a hypodermic needle
while cleaning up weeds on Southwest Ninth Street.
• A Glock 23 .40-caliber pistol was reportedly stolen
from a vehicle parked at Sand Station on Highway 730
in Umatilla.
TUESDAY, MAY 12
• An intoxicated male reportedly stuck an Xbox con-
troller in his pants at a store on North First Street.
• Items were reportedly stolen from a residence on
Southwest 11th Street.
• A female reportedly failed to return a car after bor-
rowing it on Southwest 11th Street.
• A caller reported returning to a residence on West
Madrona Avenue and finding all 14 of the caller’s
chickens were dead.
• On Second Street in Umatilla, a caller reported a
male stole a child’s bicycle.
• A male reportedly pointed a gun at a female at a
residence in Umatilla.

Hermiston native to graduate from Whitman
Catherine Callahan, Hermiston, a 2011 graduate
of Hermiston High School, will graduate from Whit-
man College in Walla Walla. Callahan will receive a
Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, with a minor in
music, during the Whitman commencement ceremony
May 24. Founded in 1882, Whitman College is an in-
dependent, non-sectarian residential college fostering
intellectual vitality, confidence and leadership in its
1,500 students.

MILITARY RECOGNITION
Air Force Airman Cody J. Cummings graduated from
basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lack-
land, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week pro-
gram that included training in military discipline and stud-
ies, Air Force core values, physical ¿tness and basic war-
fare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits
toward an associate in applied science degree through the
Community College of the Air Force.
Cummings is the son of Rhonda and Zeb Cummings of
Hermiston. He graduated in 2015 from Hermiston High School.
