Playing the role of Belle in ‘Beauty and the Beast Jr.,’ Melissa Richardson, right, sings one of her songs from the musical during a dress rehearsal Wednesday. www.bluecc.edu/about-bmcc/bond-measure MUSICAL: continued from page A1 time practicing, as well, even though he only sings one song during the play. “It takes a lot more prac- tice,” he said of performing in a musical. “You have to memorize the songs and memorize your cues. I think it’s going to go good. These last few practices have really come together.” Josiah Barron, 19, Uma- tilla, is playing Gaston in his third Parks and Recreation performance, but his role re- quires little singing. “I have a scene where I’m drunk, like really drunk, so I’m kind of singing, but it doesn’t have to sound so great, of course,” he said. He said he enjoys per- forming. “I think it’s always great to come here and be with the cast members,” he said. “I just like getting into stuff like that. You get the experience because you’ve got to learn your expressions, projecting so the crowd can hear you — all the things you learn from being in a play.” Playing Cogsworth, 14-year-old Louis Haight, Hermiston, said he only sings one line, but he has enjoyed the experience. “I usually hang out with a different type of people, so it’s kind of fun to come here and hang out with a differ- ent group,” he said. “It’s all into the experience of life. It makes me open-minded.” AFTER $750 LEASE CASH PROVIDED BY TOYOTA FINANCIAL SERVICES. 36 MO CLOSED END TOYOTA FINANCIAL SERVICE LEASE. 12K MI/YR LEASE. LEV $14,241. $1,299 CASH UP FRONT. PLUS TTD.
