From screaming at the person playing Jesus, to pushing him down, he said his portrayal of his character has to be realis- tic, even though it hurts him, emotionally, to do so. Trevino said they per- formed the production at a Catholic men’s retreat in Pendleton a few weeks ago, and the bishop of the church approached him about how much he got into his charac- ter. “I had to look like I was enjoying (punishing Jesus). I had to look like I was liking it,” he said. “That is also the toughest part. He said he hopes the project will attract students who need community service hours and people who generally want to make a difference. For those looking for volunteers, Morris said she encourages people and or- ganizations to submit their projects so they receive even more help for their efforts. “This is just a great commu- nity-based project,” she said. “It’s just a way to make the communi- ty a better place to live.” Some of the local projects posted on the platform so far include volunteering to be a Court Appointed Special Advocate, being a reader for Start Making A Reader Today through Umatilla Morrow Head Start, becoming a junior volunteer at Good Shepherd Medical Center and being a classroom volunteer at West Park Elementary School.
