Free youth concert
Thursday
Willow Creek Symphony
will perform a Young Peo-
ple’s Concert at the Herm-
iston Conference Center at
9:15 a.m. Thursday. The
concert is for, but not limit-
ed to, any young people in
third through sixth grade.
The concert is free and will
feature music, as well as an
opportunity to learn what
kinds of instruments make
up a symphony.
The Willow Creek Sym-
phony is an Inland North-
west Musicians Western-ori-
ented
youth/preparatory
symphony comprised of ap-
proximately 30 members.

Student artwork on
display at library
An exhibit featuring
the artwork of Hermis-
ton School District middle
school students is on dis-
play at the Hermiston Pub-
lic Library. A free reception
is planned for the young
artists from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday at the library, 235
E. Gladys Ave., Hermis-
ton. The public is invited
to view the art and visit
with the student artists. Re-
freshments will be served.
Teachers David Larson,
Armand Larive Middle
School, and Nicole Cim-
miyotti, Sandstone Middle
School, selected the works
of their students that are on
display in the main library
area.
The student art display
will remain through the end
of the month. The library’s
hours are from 11 a.m. to
7 p.m. Monday through
Thursdays and from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and

Booster club hosting
steak dinner
The Umatilla Boost-
er Club’s eighth annual
steak dinner and auction
will take place Saturday at
the Hermiston Conference
Center. Doors open at 5:30
p.m. and the event begins
at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the
full steak dinner are $25
and can be purchased at any
Umatilla School District lo-
cation.
Home cooking
school event
coming up

Cooking School, which

Taste of Home’s Culi-
nary Specialist Kristi Lar-
son will share her home
cooking tips while demon-
strating step-by-step rec-
ipes for the season’s best
dishes. All of the recipes
include ingredients easily
found at the grocery store,
and the dishes are submit-
ted by home cooks from
across the country.
People who attend will
receive a gift bag, including
the Taste of Home Cooking
School magazine, which
includes recipes featured
during the program and
more, as well as coupons

annual four mile run/walk
April 25 at Grecian Heights
Park in Pendleton. Regis-
