FEBRUARY 1 • A male was reportedly assaulted on Northeast Glad- ys Avenue. • A caller reported a semi-truck driver ran over a gate on Agnew Road. • A caller reported two dogs killed four of her chickens and went after her boar on Dixon Lane. • A caller reported someone tampered with her mailbox on West Highland Avenue. • Criminal mischief was reported on West Quince Avenue. • A caller reported hearing a female screaming on Southwest 17th Street. • A caller reported a suspicious male was outside a residence on Wildwood Lane in Umatilla. JANUARY 31 • A caller reported suspicious activity outside a resi- dence on Bowdin Lane. • A caller reported an unknown male was knocking on the door of a residence on Glemm Road. • A burglary was reported on Agnew Road. • Someone reportedly ran over a stop sign on East Highland Extension. • Morrow County Sheriff’s Office requested that a Hermiston Police Department officer attempt to contact, on Southwest 11th Street, the registered owners of a vehicle involved in a rollover. • A caller reported two males were suspiciously knocking on the window and door of a residence on West Hermiston Avenue. JANUARY 30 • A caller whose vehicle had been stolen reported find- ing the vehicle on South Ott Road. • A caller reported a male was in her residence on North Ott Road when she arrived and forced her to lie on the couch while he ransacked another room before leaving. • A caller reported suspicious activity at a residence on West Columbia Lane. • On West Madrona Avenue, a caller reported her ex took her son the previous week and now her mother-in- law would not return him. • A guest house was reportedly burglarized on High- way 207 in Echo. • A television was reportedly stolen from the bedroom of a residence on Highway 207 in Echo. JANUARY 29 • Someone was reportedly threatening people at a church on South Highway 395. • A caller reported hearing a single gunshot on South- east Sixth Street. • Two juveniles were reportedly shooting BB or pellet guns unsafely on West Hartley Avenue. • A caller reported juveniles in a horse trailer on South- west 11th Street were screaming for help. UEC sponsoring student to attend youth tour in nation’s capital Madilyn Hofbauer, a junior at Hermiston High School, has been selected to represent Umatilla Electric Cooperative at the Wash- ington, D.C. Youth Tour 2015 from June 11 through June 18. Hofbauer will participate in a week-long educational trip hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association where she will join 1,500 other students from throughout the United States. The trip gives high school juniors an opportu- nity to experience history at the nation’s capital. Hofbauer will experi- ence the workings of the government by speaking with Oregon’s state rep- resentatives, visiting the World War II, Vietnam and Iwo Jima war memorials and Smithsonian and Ho- locaust museums. She will also listen to motivational speakers, learn about elec- Umatilla County Fair announces this year’s headlining entertainment The Umatilla County Fair announced its headlining en- tertainment for the 2015 fair season, which includes sever- al popular performers. The fair runs Aug. 11 through Aug. 15 and all main stage entertainment will per- form on the Wildhorse Resort and Casino Main Stage. Country artist Dustin Lynch will kick off the week and will perform Aug. 11. His self-titled debut hit was No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, making him the only new male artist to achieve such a feat that year. His al- bum’s lead single, “Cowboys and Angels,” exceeded plati- num sales status. This fall, he returns with his sophomore album, “Where It’s At.” Aug. 12, country singer John Michael Montgomery will take the stage. On Aug. 14, the rock band Mary Ann Miller was born March 12, 1937, at Los Angeles, California, to parents Myron Arthur and Bernadette Teresa (Lohman) Park. She died Mon- day, February 2, 2015, at her home in Hermiston, Or- egon, at the age of 77. Mary Ann was raised in San Ber- Miller nardino, Califor- nia. On April 22, 1955, she married Robert Loren Miller in San Bernardino. They moved to Hermiston in 1968. She was a mem- ber of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hermiston. Mary Ann enjoyed her flower garden, painting, quilting and PBS Myster- ies. She is survived by children, Robert Miller of Arlington, Va., Nan- cy Miller of Hermiston, Ore., and James Mill- er of Spokane, Wash.; grandson Caden Miller; its singles, “Heaven,” reached No. 1 in Rolling Stone and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
