February 13. he moved forward to an exposed position in the face of enemy fire. Continuing onward, he singlehan dedly attacked and neutralized an enemy machine gun position which was holding up the advance of his platoon. He was mortally wounded in the performance of this heroic deed. The citation reads: "The great courage, daring initiative and keen determinatian to close with the enemy displayed by Pfc.
