Other guests were: June Goodwin. Mrs. Alfred Goodwin and Mr. Leach and son Tommy. Avery Shoun is quite ill in a hospital at The Dalles. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Connell and Arden Allen were among Pendle ton visitors Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Haddox and small daughter, Carol Jean, for mer residents of Irrigon, were Easter visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Haddox and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Haddox are now living at Prescott, Wash. Mrs. Wiegand of Pasco was a visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith and family this week end. Miss Patty Markham returned from LaGrande where she failed a physical before entrance into the nurses corps. Mr. and Mrs. Ames and family were Easter dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grider. Chas. Acock was taken to the Pendleton hospital Saturday. Mrs. June Greene and Mrs. Har old Forman and two children left for home after spending a few days visiting their brother, James Henderson and family. Mrs. June Greene and Mrs. Harold Rorman and children are from Kendrick. Idaho . Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bailey spent Easter with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Van Cleve at Pasco. Mrs. Kenneth Madison and children who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bailey, re turned to Kennewick this week. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Elliott were visitors in LaGrande this week end. Miss Joanne Tade returned to school Tuesday after a pleasant Easter vacation at home. Miss Tade is a former student of Irrigon high school. She is now attend ing Mt. Angel Academy in Port land. Delos Knighten and Leonard Al drich were Portland business visi tors for the week end. A party in honor of Frank Leicht and Bud Rucker (both in the service) was given at Mr. and Mrs. Sam Umiker's home Monday evening. Roy Minnick left for Sloan, Ore., Friday where he will superintend the work at gravel pits there. He is working for the Union Pacific railroad company and expects to be in Sloan until late this fall. Miss Esther Warner of Irrigon suffered an injury, the result of a fall. Monday evening. It was found that she had torn some tendons loose on her right arm. The annual staff for our school annual was elected this week with the following results: editor, Leon- ard Aldrich; sports, boys, LeRoy Schneider, girls, Loretta White; class reporters, senior, Kathleen Poulson; junior. Beth Russell; sophomore, Eunice Miller, and the freshman class. Marietta Haddox; advertising business manager, Kathleen Poulson; faculty, Mr. El liott, and advisor. Mr. Elliott. Dr. Maaske will speak here at the commencement exercises held in the Irrigon school gym on May 16.____ ____________ WIND BRINGS ON FIRST DUSTER New residents of this area were initiated to the first dust storm of the season last Friday and Satur day when high velocity wind brought in the first dust of the present season. A good part of the day Saturday saw huge clouds of dust darken the horizon but no serious damage was reported in this vicinity. Some newly seeded fields suffered somewhat from the blow.
