Manager Welo also said that
each year, "come income tax
time”, hundreds of Oregonians re- |
quest statements of their annual
earnings for use in making out in-
come tax returns, because they
know that the Social Security
Board keeps careful records of
wages paid to workers in jobs cov-1
ered by the old-age and survivors
insurance system. It is on the
basis of these records that bene
fits die calculated for the insured
worker or his family.
Wages paid during the last three
months of 1944 will be reported to
the Collectors of Internal Revenue
during January. Mr. Welo said.
During February and March these
reports will be forwarded to the
Baltimore offices of the Bureau of
Old-Age and Survivors Insurance.
There the wage amounts will be
recorded in the social security ac
count maintained for each individ
ual worker. This will not be com
pleted until the end of June.
