Mr. and Mrs. George Genn were dinner guests Christmas day at the E. J. Murphy home in Pendleton. Janiece Harmon of Stanfield en tered the Hermiston General hos pital Tuesday for medical care. Mrs. Floyd Pierce arrived Sun day to spend Christmas at the Ot to Pierce home. She left for Port land again Monday night. Harry Kelley, a medical patient at the Hermiston General hospital, returned to his home Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Ganger and daughters. Bonnie and Wanda, spent the Christmas holiday in Hermiston with relatives and friends. Mrs. Carrie Beitel returned to her home after spending several days at the Hermiston General hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davison spent the Christmas holiday in Portland visiting Mrs. Davison’s parents. Mrs. William Slate and baby son Gary William returned to their home in Irrigon Sunday from the Hermiston General hospital. Corp. Jake Ray. who recently spent two weeks here on furlough visiting his father, George Ray, and other delatives, left this week for his camp at Manchester, N. H. Word has been received by local friends that a son of S. C. Lochrie, former cashier at the Hermiston First National Bank, is now a co- pilot on a B-17 in Italy. Stewart, eyesight spec ialist of Pendleton, will be at the Hermiston Hotel on Wednesday, January 3, between the hours of 10:00 and 5:00. 20-lc Mrs. Archie Pales entered the local hospital Thursday of last week and is receiving medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tiller spent the Christmas holiday in La Grande visiting Mr. Tiller’s moth er. Mr. Tiller had his first leave for some time from the local Union Pacific office. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thompson, former owners of the now Moore & Ripley Drug store, were callers in Hermiston Wednesday. They were en route to Pendleton to visit Mr. Thompson’s parents. Mrs. Jim Waterman of Stanfield was an overnight patient at the Hermiston General hospital Mon day. Miss Eleanor Skoubo, a senior at Northwest Christian college, spent last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Payne. Miss Skoubo made her home with the Paynes some years ago. Mrs. Harold Keller underwent a minor surgery at the Hermiston General hospital Thursday of last week and returned to her home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gimble' have received word that their son. Jay, now rates Third Class Petty Officer, as Storekeeper. He re ceived the promotion December 1 while serving in the South Pacific. Miss Charleen Payne of Marsh field arrived Monday to spend un til New Years at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Har vey Payne, and her grandmother. Mrs. Una Dinwitty.
