Douglas left last week for Pilot Rock for an indefi nite stay. Sgt. George Sale, who is stationed near Oakland, Calif., with the U. S- Army, came Sunday to visit for a week with relatives and friends. He is in the Fighter Command, Army Air Force. Dr. J. P. Miss Joyce McCulley of Mountain Home, Idaho, is here visiting rela tives and friends. Miss McCulley was formerly employed at The Herald and later at the Umatilla Ordnance Depot. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Omohundro have received word that Maynard Neal, U. S- Navy, is in a Seattle hospital suf fering from rheumatic fever. He has been ill about two months and asks for a small radio to while away the time. Mrs. Omohundro is advertising in the classifieds this week for a ra dio. Word has been received here that Clarence A. Kennison, Jr., and Wan da E. Dunning, both of Hermiston, obtained a marriage license in Port land Monday. Miss Dunning is a daughter of Ed Dunning and Mr. Ken nison is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Kennison, all of Hermiston.
