She has been named Carolyn Lee. A shower was held Friday after- noon at the ohme of Mrs. Roach in honor of Mrs. Dick Robertson. Mrs. Barlow is confined to her bed for an additional month. She is with her daughter, Mrs. Truman Messen- gei at Lexington. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mallory of Ta coma are the parents of a son called Gerald Owen born May 30. Ernest, Delbert, and Lawrence Ty ler and Stanton Hadley went to Port land Thursday night to see Elmer Ty ler who was there for a day en route from Iowa to San Diego. They picked up Hilma Lee and Mrs. Fobes at The Dalles. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rosi- land and Norma went down in their own car. Aldis Emerson returned to Lafay ette Thursday night after being with his mother. Mrs. Harry Thorpe for a short visit. He came up with her when they moved a truck load of fur niture. Arthur Allen spent a few days at his home this week en route from Ta coma to Huntington where he will be for a short time before going to La Grande. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lay and fam ily left Thursday morning for their new home at Canhy. Miss Mardell Gorham has returned from Marylhurst academy in Portland and is now employed at the U.O.D. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gorham and Mrs. Ella Blay den returned the mid dle of the week from New Plymouth, Idaho, where they were called due to illness in the family. . Mrs. McReynolds of Pilot Rock came Wednesday for an indefinite stay with her daughter, Mrs. Nate Macomber. Mrs. Gilbert Pettys and children of Pendleton came Sunday to spend a week at the Nate Macomber home. | Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely and family spent Sunday at Morgan visiting Mr. Ely's patents, Mr. and Mrs. 11. Ely. Clayton Alien left Thursday for a few days visit with friends in La Grande before going on to Hunting- ton to stay with his father. Mrs. : Minnie McFarland left Satur- day for Eugene attend State Ry Mrt. Bernice Wattenburger Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wattenburger of Umatilla spent Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wattenbur- ger. It is reported that Joe Foley is much improved after his serious ac cident from a fall from his home. Mr. and Mrs. John Healy took their daughter Miss Cecelia Healy to Port land to work in Dr. Morgan’s office. Robert Garvison spent Sunday vis iting his mother, Mrs. Charles Ander Mrs. Robert Wilson left Monday to attend the funeral of her sister at En terprise. Miss Lois Messenger is visiting rel atives at Portland and Vancouver. Pvt. Elbert Fisher has been trans ferred from Fresno. Cal., to Texas where he is taking a course in air- plane mechanics. Mrs. David Sheets is working at Gorham's store. Her sister is taking care of the baby. Frances and Dagmar Skoubo have gone to Portland ti take a summer course to enable them to finish high school in three years. Marvin Walpole is attending school in La Grande to gain two credits which will complete his high school course without going to school next year. Mrs. Gladys Ford moved her house hold furnishings this week to Walla Walla where she will make her home. Dale Russell has been sent to a training camp in Utah. Crystal Barlow is spending a few days in Portland. Chloe and her grandmother, Mrs. Ferguson of Gold Beach, arc running the station dur ing her absence.
