The City Council shall have the right to revoke any license in case the holder thereof shall be guilty of any violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance, or any other ordinance of the City of Her miston or of any of the provisions of the laws of the State of Oregon or of the United States, and shall have the right to refuse the granting of any license to any person, firm, company or corporation which has heretofore or before the issuance of such license, been found guilty of anv such viola- tion. The City Council shall also have the right to revoke any license the holder of which shall not operate his place of business in a clean, or derly manner or who shall permit any violations of Ordinances of the City or any State or Federal laws in his place of business. Section 10. Any person, firm, com pany or corporation who shall within the City of Hermiston engage in. prosecute or carry on any busines/ trade, calling or employment for gair for which a license is required, with- I out first obtaining a license as here- | in provided, or who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a misde- meaner and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than $5.00 nor more than $200.00 for each violation thereof, and in default of the payment of such fine. he. she or they shall be confined in the City iail for a period of one day for each $2.00 of such fine, and upon conviction such license shall be cancelled. Section 11. That Ordinance No. 193 and 198 be and they hereby are re pealed. Section 12. It is hereby adjudged and declared that existing conditions are such that this ordinance is neces sary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the City and an emergency is hereby de clared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage bv the City Council and approval by the Mayor. Landois. a renegade captain, plots against the hero but Landois is completely discredited and all ends happily with the assurance that the United States Navy will go on to greater triumphs with the spir it of John Paul Jones ever watching over its gallant men. LOST BOOKS ARE RAISING HAVOC --------- ..r According to word received from the local office of the War Price and Rationing board, many reports of lost coupons and rationing books are being brought to the office. Orders from headquarters are that those losing rationing books must wait a period of 60 days before new books can be is sued.
