To My Friends:
After ten years of business in Hermiston, I will the first of
March turn over my responsibilities to Sam and John H. Nye, who
will continue to operate the store along similar lines as heretofore.
It is with deep regl et that I take this step, but feel that I can be of
more service, both to myself and my country, in operating a ranch
which I have recently purchased in Wallowa county. I am not
turning my back on Hermiston but will maintain a home here and
divide my time between the two places. Also I will continue to
work hard but in a different atmosphere, a change which I feel I
deserve and have earned.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank my friends for their
patronage and especially their friendship which I have enjoyed
during my ten years in business here. I have thoroughly enjoyed
my associations and hope that we may continue to remain
true friends.
I also wish that you will treat Sam and John the
