Farmers are willing to do their job, he believes, but they will need more help. Farms will probably lose additional men to the armed forces and to war indus tries next year, hence city dwellers, women and school children will have to give even more help than they did this year and other labor aids will be needed if production goals are to be met. 1943 PHOSPHATE NOW AVAILABLE Umatilla county farmers who want to obtain phosphate under the 1943 AAA program for use this fall should place their order immediately with the county AAA office, A R. Cop pock. chairman of the county AAA committee, announced this week. Cost of the phosphate will be de ducted from 1943 AAA production practice payments earned by the grower, the chairman explained. De duction rates will be $25 a ton. Mr. Coppock also pointed out that prac tice payment rates for application of phosphate under the 1943 program have been increased to compensate for the increased cost of the material. While the county committee is hopeful of obtaining additional ship ments for distribution next spring, there is no assurance that phosphate will be available after the first of the year, because of the extreme short age of commercial fertilizer mater ials. •THE FLEET (,5omeun..) wot Minnie McFarland and Effie CHARMER GEAPYEI AAAAAAAAAAAAA Hermiston Barber Shop WELL EQUIPPED TO ACCOMMODATE AND GIVE YOU THE BEST OF SERVICE JED PROUTY DOROTHY MOORE CHARLES LINO t BILL SHAAR, Prop.
