They were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Leasch and Beverly, Mr. and Mrs. Wyle and Lil- iän, Mrs. Numaster and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Greathouse gave a farewell supper to Mr and Mrs. Arneson and children Lawrence and Lorene. They have been here since May and are leaving for Spo kane. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Marks and children also are leaving, the men having finished their jobs at the U. O. D. Under the auspices of the Umatil- la county health unit the last immu nization clinic for this year will be held in the Stanfield high school on Monday, November 8, from 1 to 3 p. m. Dr. R. H. Wilcox, county health officer, will be in charge assisted by Miss Vera Todd, public health nurse, and Mrs. Ed Brown. All second doses of diphtheria toxoid may be had at this time in addition to smallpox vac- cinatons, schick and tuberculin tests. | In order to obtain these immuniza- + tions school children must have their request slips signed by their parents, and pre-schoil children must be ac companied by their parents. Basketball is in the air for Stan field school on November 28, having won against Athena A squad 10 to 12, and a rousing good B squad game scored 33 tbl8 in favor of Athena. | However they lost two good games | with Irrigon on December 1. The town team won over Hermiston town team. The Stanfield Woman's Study club I will meet December 4 at the home of Mrs. C. E. Taylor. H. S. Lowe of the F. S. A. will present the matter of establishing a community recreation hall and com munity club house up at the former OCC camp. Mrs. J. M. Richards will be the speaker of the afternoon and her subject will be “America’s role in | the world affairs.” J. M. Richards returned Tuesday I night from the Portland hospital, I awaiting doctor’s orders, but is im proved. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gillanders are being congratulated upon the ar- rival of a granddaughter Janet Kay to Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Merrill of Eu- | gene. Baker returned to Portland and Vancouver Saturday following the funeral of Mrs. Baker which was held from the Presbyterian church Fri- | day.
