J. Naton. They returned home Tuesday. Mrs. A. J. Ackley of Yakima, Wn., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Na tion, arrived Sunday and remained to attend the graduation exercises Thursday evening. Her brother, Bil lie, is a member of the graduating class. Richard Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Cox, was honored this week when he was asked to pledge Alpha Delta Signma, national advertising fraternity. Richard is a student a t Oregon State and has been quite prominent in this line of work. In last week’s issue of the Herald a news item stated that Mrs. Ger trude Sanders was employed a t the Umatilla Ordnance Depot as head telephone operator. This was some what exaggerated as the senior oper ator is Mrs. Jeannette Stover, for merly of Portland but more recently of Vancouver. SACRED MUSICAL CONCERT M AY 25 The Hoffman Players of Pendle ton will present a sacred musical con cert in the Central Church of Christ Friday, May 23 at 8:00 p. m. The party consists of Rev. Lulu Hoffman, pianist and soloist, her 12 year old son who is a soloist and trumpetist, and Miss Carrie Beelar, vocalist and pianist. The program consists of piano so los and duets, vocal solos, duets and trios, violin, harmonica, guitar and piano ensemble, trumpet and Hawai ian guitar solos. Among the num bers offered will be The Holy City, Adams: Calvary, Rodney: Whisper ing Hope; The Light That Guides; My Didn’t Rain; and When I Get to Heaven, negro spirituals. The pastor, Rev. C.
