Mrs. Walter Smith, who was called to La Grande last week by the illness of her daughter Mrs. Lynn Ander son, is still there. Latest reports are that Mrs. Anderson is getting along nicely. Elvin Quiring of Dallas arrived Saturday to work in Hermiston. In the mornings he will be employed at The Herald office and in the after noons at Burnham & Burnham. YOUTH RALLY WELL ATTENDED The Youth Rally held at the Meth odist chur<i Wednesday evening in connection with the local Christian Mission was attended by a large crowd of young people from the west end of Umatilla county, Boardman and Irrigon. Following a pot luck banquet, a number of short speeches were given by the presidents of the societies represented. A fter this the address of the evening was given by Miss Betty Britton of Portland.
