Although it is known that the advisory board, which picks con tractors for national defense jobs, has made its recommendations at Washington the actual information and the identity has not been an nounced. Word received here is to the effect that negotiations are now underway with the chosen contractors but that said contractors at present are snowed under with work contracts. This much information was given out, however, that the chosen contractor was not a resident of either Oregon or Washington. Locally activity is gaining momen tum with speculation at a high pitch. News of the actual work construction is expected most any day.
