the milk industry must be measured
in terms of the improvement in the
quality of milk and the extent to
which the efficiency of the industry
has increased, according to conclus
ions reached by experiment station
economists a t Oregon State college,
who have been conducting county-by
county surveys on the operation of
the Oregon milk control law A sum
mary of their findings has ju st been
published in the form of station bul
letin No. 37 5, entitled “Some Econ
omic Implications of Milk Control in
Oregon.”
The report makes no attem pt to de
cide for or against the milk control
law as regards its various activities
in this state. It does analyze the ef
fects of the law in the counties and
points out the relationship of various
board actions to subsequent develop
ments in the fluid milk industry
